by a club appointed certification instructor before flying without
assistance of an instructor. Appointed certification instructors will
certify new pilots when they are able to safely perform certain basic
flight and safety procedures as described by the club's Instructor's
Checklist. Instructors are volunteers who have demonstrated flying
skill, are approved by the executive committee, and whose names have
been published by the club president. This is not intended to mean
that any volunteer who feels so inclined may not assist a student.
They may, but only appointed certification instructors may certify
the student to fly unassisted.
